Turkish Import Duty Rates Have been Increased on the import of Some Flat Steel Products

With the "Decision on the Amendment to the Import Regime Decision" published on Turkey's official newspaper on January 28, 2023, an increase was made in the import duty rates applied to the import of products from third countries for some flat steel products.
It is considered that the decision to increase the tax has been taken in line with the increasing complaints that the increase in flat steel imports in recent months.

According to the decision, following new import tax rates be effective on imports from third countries as of Jannuary 28, 2023;

Customs duty on Unalloyed HRC imports was increased from 9% to 15%.
Customs duty on Alloyed HRC imports was increased from 6% to 13%.
Customs duty rate on Stainless Steel HRC imports was kept constant at 0-2%.
Customs duty rates on Plates imports was increased from 9-10-15% to 15-20%.
Customs duty rate on Unalloyed CRC imports from 10% to 17%
Customs duty rate on Stainless CRC imports was kept constant at 8%.
Customs duty rate on Galvanized Coil imports was increased from 15% to 20%.
Customs duty rate on PPGI imports was increased from 15% to 20%.
Customs Duty rate on Tinplate imports was increased from 15% to 20%.
Customs duty rate on the import of Siliceous Sheet Metal was kept constant at 6%.

European Union Countries, EFTA member countries and Israel, Macedonia, Bosnia Herzegovina, Morocco, Palestine, Tunisia, Egypt, Georgia, Albania, Chilie, Serbia, Montenegro, Kosovo, Mouritius, Malaysia,Moldova, Faroe Islands, South Korea, United Kingdom, Ireland are still have 0% custom import duty.
